Why I built this

It started with a watch for Luna.

I’m Yeison, and I’ll be honest: I’m brand new to watches. When my daughter Luna was born, I wanted something to mark the moment — a watch I could wear now and hand to her one day. Choosing it pulled me into this world, and I fell for it completely.

Then I looked for a simple way to track what I was learning. Nothing worked the way I wanted, so I built my own. It does the research. I do the wearing.

Pulso is still young, and I say so plainly. It runs my own small collection daily, and I’m opening a small beta because I’d rather build it with a few collectors than guess alone.

Pulso knows each watch’s own power reserve and tells you whether it is still running, has stopped, or might have. Quartz is not asked the question. Log a wearing and the history fills in with a gold dot.

And when a stopped piece needs winding, Set Time shows a live seconds clock with the screen kept awake — pull the crown and start it exactly on the beat.

Every month, Pulso re-checks the watches you own and the ones you are chasing, counting what each is currently listed for across UK retail and pre-owned sellers and taking the middle price. Set a target and the shortlist tells you when the last check came in at or below it.

Eight styles a collection is usually built from, each on a three-rung ladder — entry, step-up, goal — filled in from watches already added. Empty rungs aren’t errors, they’re invitations.

Show it to the people who would actually care.

Most people in your life do not want to hear about a movement. The few who do are the reason this is worth building. Send someone an invite and they land on your collection, rather than on an empty app they have to fill in first.

You choose what they see, one surface at a time: the watches, the shortlist, where each one sits on your roadmap, how often you wear them. Every switch starts off and stays off until you turn it on. What you paid, your notes and your serials are not on the list, because there is no version of this where a friend needs them.

Values go across as a band rather than a number, for a reason worth saying out loud: on my own collection what a watch is worth and what I paid for it are the same figure on two watches in ten, and within twenty per cent on nine. A precise value is a purchase price wearing a hat. And wear history goes across as months, not days, because the first day you wore something is the day you bought it.

You can disconnect at any point and it goes both ways at once.

Questions collectors ask

What does it cost?

Nothing during the beta. You get 25 watch lookups to explore with, and adding watches you already own is free for your first fifty. If it ever costs money later, beta members hear first and get the best terms.

What do I need?

Any phone or computer with a browser. The layout adapts to the screen — a clean single column on your phone, a full multi-column view on a desktop — and on iPhone it installs to your home screen and behaves like a native app.

Is my collection data private?

Yes. Your collection is yours. It is never sold, and nothing is shared with anyone unless you choose to share it. Being straight about the exceptions, because the privacy page is: when you research a watch, the name you typed goes to Claude to look it up and to a search service to find a photo and what it sells for. Your email, your prices and the rest of your collection do not. A gift-guide link only exposes what you explicitly choose to share.

How accurate are the prices?

Each price is the middle of what the watch is currently listed for across UK retail and pre-owned sellers, and it carries the range and how many listings it used. Under five sane listings, Pulso says it does not know rather than inventing a figure. Treat them as a well-informed guide for collectors, not trading-grade data. Pulso is built for enjoying a collection, not running a dealership.

How mature is this?

Honestly? Still young, and I say so proudly. It runs my own collection daily, and the things on this page marked as coming are genuinely not built yet. You will be an early voice in what it becomes. That is the point of the beta.
