This site belongs to Yeison Ospina, based in Bolton, UK. I am the data controller for any personal information collected here. This page explains what I collect, why, who helps me process it, and what you can ask me to do with it. If anything is unclear, get in touch or email yeisonwithay@gmail.com.

What I collect and why

  • Newsletter. If you subscribe, I collect your email address and basic signup details (such as the page or video link you came from). I use it only to send the newsletter you asked for. The legal basis is your consent, and every email has a one click unsubscribe link.
  • Contact form. If you send a message, I collect what you enter (such as your name, email address, company and message) so I can reply. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering enquiries.
  • Waitlists and early access. Some project pages (such as Pulso, Vela, JARVIS and Pluma) let you join a waitlist. I collect your email address, and any details you choose to add, to tell you when the product is ready. The legal basis is your consent.
  • Comments. If you leave a comment, the site stores your name, email address, website (if given), the comment, your IP address and browser details. This is used to display the comment and to filter spam.
  • Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors find the site. It collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, using cookies and similar technology.
  • Security logs. To protect the site from attacks, security tools record IP addresses and requests made to the site.

Who helps me run this

I do not sell your information. I share it only with services that process it on my behalf:

  • beehiiv sends the newsletter and stores subscriber details.
  • Hostinger hosts this website.
  • Railway and Supabase host the servers that receive contact form messages and waitlist signups.
  • Google provides analytics, web fonts and, through YouTube, embedded videos. Videos are embedded in privacy enhanced mode.
  • Automattic (Akismet) checks comments for spam.
  • Wordfence provides site security.

Some of these providers are based in, or may process data in, the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where that happens, they rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Cookies

The site uses a small number of cookies. WordPress sets cookies if you log in or leave a comment. Google Analytics sets cookies to tell visits apart, but only if you accept them in the cookie banner. Until then, analytics runs without cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer. Embedded videos and subscribe forms may set their own cookies when you interact with them. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time, and the site will still work.

How long I keep it

  • Newsletter details: until you unsubscribe, then removed or anonymised.
  • Contact messages: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and no longer than two years.
  • Waitlist emails: until the product launches or you ask to be removed.
  • Comments: for as long as the comment is published.
  • Analytics data: according to the retention setting in Google Analytics, at most 14 months.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how I use it, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. To do any of this, contact me. I will reply within one month.

If you are not happy with how I have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If I change how I use your information, I will update this page and the date at the top.
