Pluma used to hand me a draft and wait. As of 29 July it can post approved X drafts itself: OAuth 1.0a signing built from Node’s own crypto and https modules, no dependency, because X’s posting API is pay-per-use now, not a flat subscription.
The same pass fixed something that should have been enforced from the start: a draft that reviewed fine came in at 460 characters against X’s 280 limit, with the currency symbol dropped from the money figures despite the attached image showing them correctly. The Editor step is now a hard gate, not a style suggestion: it counts every character, confirms the app name leads the first line, checks currency symbols, and trims or fixes before the post ever reaches me for approval.
Hashtags dropped from up to three down to one. I looked rather than guessed: stacking hashtags on X in 2026 reads as spam and does nothing for discovery, plain text naming the app is what actually makes a post recognizable on a fast-scrolling timeline.
Engagement stats, likes, reposts, replies, now refresh automatically for anything Pluma has posted, shown in the Archive tab instead of the generic word-count metrics every other platform gets.
